In today's world, Personal Trainers have
a key role to play in helping an individual
to achieve optimal health. In today's modern
world, the advent of the Internet, mobile
phones, blackberries (not the eating kind!)
have made sure that we are always contactable
any time, any place, any where! Over time,
the pressures of living in this fast paced,
high tech environment catch up with us,
our sphere of influence becomes smaller
as we attempt to cope, becoming "prison
like" and restricting our personal
desires, hopes and dreams.
All round well-being and fitness is about
training smarter not harder. The No-Pain
- No Gain myth of the 1980's is long over.
The goal is to train, not drain. Your body
gets stronger at rest, not when you are
exercising.
A Personal Trainer can be the key to unlocking
that individuals' potential, to help them
become a fully functioning, effective member
of the human race.
In today's world as Personal Trainers we
are reintroducing "training methodology"
in gyms - like years ago -when gyms consisted
of free weights, parallel bars, medicine
balls and trampolines! To a time when training
was "functional".
Fitness jumping has been used in rehabilitative
settings for over 30 years. With the GYM
URBAN REBOUNDING Program, this well-researched
technology is now available for use in the
gym or studio by incorporating the Rebounder
as part of circuit training, and as a valuable
1:1 Personal training tool that will challenge
and develop your clients' cardiovascular
workout, balance, co-ordination and proprioception
with quite astonishing results.
Adding Urban Rebounding to your training
program will optimize performance and also
improve the function of neutralizer and
stabilizer musculature. Neutralizer muscles
are muscles that counteract the actions
of other muscles to ensure smooth, coordinated
movements. Stabilizer muscles are the muscles
that surround your joints and protect them
from injury.
Machine training is not optimal because
machines are anchored to the floor and your
stabilizer muscles are not developed. Also,
machines use fixed axis of motion which
means you do not have to stabilize the weight
in three dimensions as you would in real
life or an athletic environment.
Rebounding forces you to work in an unstable
environment. The more unstable your training
environment, the more activation you get
from your joint stabilizers and joint neutralizers.
By improving these qualities, you improve
joint stability, which allows more of the
prime movers to be recruited. This results
in improved performance in everyday life
because you are able to apply more power
or strength to any given situation in real
life, and greater carry over to the playing
field.
Rebounding training provides high levels
of nervous system activation, challenges
the nervous system and therefore builds
more reserve function. This allows you to
more easily transfer strength and power
to everyday activities and the playing field.
Currently, numerous famous physical therapists,
movement therapists, and conditioning specialists,
are using the Rebounder as a routine part
of their therapeutic and conditioning programs.
Welcome to the world of Rebounding
